I will always be confused as to how we stay quiet with all the pressure. I was breathing like I was legitimately pooping the biggest poop I had ever ejected from my body. Girl. I had half of the regular birthing experience - all my contractions were in my back and the epidural worked only on one side and I tried to push our son out - then they came and asked whether I wanted forceps to turn our son, or have a C-section. In complete peace, I chose the C-section, only knowing several hours later that I had saved kiddo’s life, as well as my own by choosing the C-section - if I’d continued pushing, I would have ruptured my uterus and not gotten away with just hemmorhaging a litre of blood (I want to know how they determine that). I spent 20 hours in the recovery room - our tiny son had his other mama to do skin-to-skin and feedings. Thank you for helping me remember the beautiful parts of labouring a child ❤ and 🎉🎉🎉Lyla is here!
